Make The Road Action Fund Endorses Domenic Recchia for Congress

Staten Island, NY--Today, the Make the Road Action Fund (MRAF) endorsed Domenic M. Recchia Jr. for Congress in New York’s 11th District. MRAF, the sister organization of the non-profit Make the Road New York, has become an increasingly important player in local elections and policy campaigns affecting Latino, immigrant, and LGBTQ communities across New York, and their endorsement adds weight to the coalition of labor groups, community leaders and grassroots activists already supporting Mr. Recchia.

Domenic M. Recchia Jr. was proud to be endorsed by Make The Road Action Fund, as grassroots support for his candidacy continues to grow. "I'm pleased to have the endorsement of Make the Road Action Fund. Make the Road Action Fund does incredible work engaging men and women of our community, and providing them with the tools necessary to succeed and thrive at home and in the work place. I'm happy to have their support and look forward to working together to empower our friends and neighbors in every corner of the district," he said.

Javier H. Valdés, Co-Executive Director of Make the Road Action Fund, asserted: “Our members are proud to stand with Domenic Recchia in his run for Congress because he stands with us on the issues that matter most to working families and Latino New Yorkers. He will fight to pass comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship, which a majority of Staten Islanders supports. He will also fight to raise the minimum wage and for better health access for working people in Staten Island.”

Make the Road Action Fund is the latest organization to join an increasingly diverse set of Recchia supporters from organized labor, the progressive community, and local, state, and national Democrats. Recchia has earned endorsements from Senator Charles Schumer, District Council 37, the Uniformed Fire Officers Association, NY League of Conservation Voters, SEIU Local 32BJ, and more.
